Please plan to arrive at Hampden CC at least 30 minutes prior to the 10:00 am shotgun start on June 27th, allowing you enough time to register, pick up your participant gift, etc. Also, remember to bring your foursome's prize contribution for the raffle table! All proceeds from the raffle go directly to the Robert J. Kenny Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Barton Camp.
Format:
The Kenny Classic is a scramble tournament. This format allows the team to play the best shot of the foursome at every stroke. For example, after all four team members tee off, the team decides which tee shot is best, and the three remaining players pick up their golf balls and head to that location. All four players play from that spot, and so on. When hitting from the chosen spot, team members are allowed to drop within a club length of the original shot location, no closer to the hole. The only restriction is that every team must use at least two tee shots from every player. All four players play every shot, regardless of whose shot was just chosen.
The men hit from the white tee markers, while women hit from the red tee markers. Unless otherwise stated, USGA and Hampden C.C. golf rules apply. At the close of your round, please be sure to turn in your scorecard (with the names of your foursome clearly indicated) at the Pro Shop. There will be prizes awarded in both Low Gross and Low Net categories.
Contests:
There will be two Closest To The Pin contest holes and two hole-in-one contests. A donation of $5.00 is required to compete for the 50/50 hole, with the pot being split between the winner and the Clara Barton Camp. Tee shots must stop on the green to be eligible for both Closest To The Pin holes. There will also be a Longest Drive contest with prizes awarded for both men's and women's longest drive. Please note that your tee shot must be in the fairway to be eligible for this contest. |
